Solid wood is a very durable and resilient material and if you take care of your table regularly, it will continue to look good for a long time. There are some simple guidelines to follow to take the best care of your coffee table:

1. Use coasters to avoid rings and moisture stains on the table.
2. Wipe up any spillage immediately and wipe away any stains with a well-wrung cloth.
3. Sand and finish the table if necessary.
4. Check from time to time that any screws are properly tightened.

Currently, the most common finishes on our coffee tables are pigmented oil; white oil and brown oil. But soap and oil are also popular finishes that help make the table durable and easy to care for.

Start by thinking about how you want to use your coffee table - once you have this in mind, it will be easier to find the right size. Is the coffee table primarily a beautiful piece of decor where you can place the remote control or is it a place to eat and socialise in front of the TV? A larger living room with a generous sofa or sofa group invites you to choose a larger piece of furniture next to it, while a large coffee table in a smaller living room can easily take over. The coffee table should not be as wide as the sofa, as you need plenty of room to move around.

The standard height of our larger coffee tables is 45 centimetres, while the smaller ones are usually slightly higher. A good rule of thumb for finding the right coffee table height is to choose a table that is approximately the same height as the seat of the sofa.

When choosing the shape of your coffee table, you should consider how your seating area is positioned but also how you want the space to be perceived. Round coffee tables create an inviting and soft impression and avoid sharp corners. Rectangular and square tables look great in larger living rooms. If you have two sofas opposite each other, a rectangular table can be a particularly good choice.
